Welcome to Snoodle's guide to dog friendly London and trips further afield
He's a (nearly) 3 year old cockerpoo living in North London with his humans. While he's perfectly happy lounging at home, days out are just much more fun with him and so we've amassed a hit list of dog friendly restaurants and things to do.
While there are other great websites with much more in depth tips and reviews, I felt the need to document my efforts somewhere in case it saved someone the hours of Google review searching and calling up places I've had to do in the past.
(PS. the human is also trying to relearn html)
I'll add more places, pictures and tidy this up over time but I've listed some starter options below (appologies they're all over the country). These are all places we have been and can confirm are dog friendly
- Megan's - multiple branches around London
- Dishoom Carnaby - only if you sit outside
- The Duck and Rice - in Soho, dogs allowed inside
- Barrafina in Soho - if you sit outside
- Sobremesa - Bexhill. So dog friendly, and really good food. The Paella especially
- Skylark Cafe - Eastbourne. Good brunch
- Simply Italian - Rye. Italian restaurant
- The Chocolate Teapot - Aldeburgh. Very good value for money afternoon tea
- Regatta - Aldeburgh. Best food we had in the area
- Cotswolds House Hotel and Spa - Chipping Camden. Their restaraunt and rooms are dog friendly. Nice gardens for the dog to sunbathe in while we had cocktails. The spa isn't dog friendly (unsurprisingly) but we were able to find a dog sitter for the day easily
- Da Luigi Bistro - Chipping Camden, large portions of tasty Italian food
- Lucy's on a plate - Ambleside. We've been multiple times.
- Bar eS - Ambleside and Keswick. Dog friendly Mexican places are hard to find. Great cocktails.
- Sheila's Cottage - Ambleside
- Copper Pot - Ambleside. Good brush. Does alternative milks which is helpful for the lactose intolerant.
- Wings - Edinburgh. Actually in love with this place. Seemingly endless choice of hot sauce (which we sometimes order for delivery) with wings or nuggets and a side of mac and cheese.
- Scran and Scallie - Edinburgh. Have been once, will go again without or without the dog
- Wee Buddha - Edinburg
Not easy to find dog friendly Asian restaurants in the UK. I actually think Saboteur is slightly tastier but not dog friendly
- Domaine 16 - Cheltenham. This place had better fondue than the place we went in the French Alps. I feel better saying that as it's run by a lovely French woman. Snoodle got given a cheese treat the size of his weekly allowance so he's keen to return
